ROW80 check in, du-dum random thoughts

ROW80LogocopyThis is my late ROW80 check-in of Sunday December 7, 2014. My writing had slowed to a standstill. I have been fuelling my imagination by listening to music and audiobooks on YouTube.

I have been playing been with several things, including the new version of Google Drive, I set it as the same view. As for my scrivener update took me several failed attempts before I had to call it a night and try again in the morning. Lo and behold, even it took me about four hours to download that update. Finally that bastard is updated and it looks slick from the last version.

Good old Google, it would be nice if Google Drive implemented Courier Prime font in Google Docs. Courier Prime font is easier on the eye. I found a decent substitute, while working online Adamina font. Courier new font is a little too skinny.

Oh yeah, while lurking about on several name generator sites, a handful of them had produced good keepers. Anyways aside from it, Enoch is good name via scrivener name generator, I am all ready using it for my character’s name.

I am still considering in getting a chromebook as a complementary tool for my writing. But a wireless router is needed. Then again, the community internet sometimes like to takes its sweet time.  I decided not to migrate to a highspeed internet.

Check out what other ROW80ers are up to.

  1. You should be writing technical reviews for consumers. This is grand! Too bad you cannot get a Chromebook to review — mine is complicated to use but works well for Facebook and yahoo mail.

    • There’s a chromebook that costs 250.00 before shipping and handling and tax. I think its an acer chromebook.
Chromebooks are popular, from the articles I have read.

  2. Listening to music and audiobooks on YouTube sounds like a great way to fuel the creative spirit. I don’t usually listen to music while I write, but a good song can help me to discover new ideas or figure out something new about a current WIP.

Best of luck in the week ahead!

    • Thanks for stopping by. Indeed music both online and offline and audiobooks on youtube are great for defragging one’s mind.

A good song depending on one’s flavour is helpful in stewing new ideas or figuring out something new about one’s current WIP.

Stay sweet and best of luck in writing journey 😉

  3. I also don’t often listen to music, but oh, the youtube is wonderful for those quick movies of settings in faraway places I cannot yet visit. I sympathize with technology. My first experiences with ‘the cloud’ had me deleting whole folders of pictures accidentally. Re the Chromebook, how will you manage without a keyboard???? Ah, perseverance furthers. Even when it takes 4 hours to download the updates. Hope the coming week is a good one.

    • Yikes that stings, I hope that the accidental delete won’t pop up again. I will keep that in mind. Note to myself, keep all of the pictures in 2 different external hard drives and two USB thumb drives

I am used to the keyboards. 4 hours of downloading updates yikes :O Sounds like your internet connection is slow as hell.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your week would go smoothly without the hitch

  4. I love those name generators! Though the last time I used one it didn’t work out so well 🙂 I wanted a name for my Dwarf and nothing the thing generated rang true. Strangely, I was driving through Wales and saw the name of a village which was the perfect match for the character! 🙂

    • It’s good that you got the name for character, inspiration comes unexpectedly. Yeah its true that name generators often produce skimpy selection for character.
Naming characters are tough nuts to crack.
Speaking of name generators, it sometimes produce names that a porn actor would use as a stage name. Go figure. yikes.
